The next
day......
"Yes,
Lord. I will see to it. We are all in danger if these crazy
lunatics, the ones who have a large group of followers and call themselves 'The
Way', continue to grow in numbers. It is time now to eliminate them, one
by one. I will take these documents with me to Damascus in a couple of
hours and arrest all of the insurgents I can fine. Jehovah will be
proud."
A few
minutes later......
"Are
you ready? It's a long journey and I plan to be there a while.
Damascus will welcome us with open arms and I am sure we will find enough true
believers to help us arrest these scoundrels. Double-check all your
supplies, and make sure you have them tired down on the mounts so we won't lose
any, which could delay us from arriving before nightfall. Also, make sure
you have your weapons at your side at all times, ready to draw. These
radicals could appear anywhere, like out of thin air even. "
Around
noon.......
Argh!!!
Umph.........."Who are you, Lord?" (I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.) "What
Shall I do Lord?" (Get up and go into the
city, and you will be told what you must do.) "You all
heard that, right? Hey, I can't see a thing. What happened?
My eyes. They hurt, I can't see. Help me. You didn't see
anything? The sun blinded me, or at least it looked the sun. It was
so bright. Did you see it? Oh Jehovah, I can't see.
Can you all see? Please help me you guys, I need to get to Damascus.
The Lord, the true son of God, Jesus, just spoke to me. Yes, Jesus!
The Messiah that these radicals have been talking about all along. This
is amazing, He just spoke to me out of thin air. Did you understand
Him? I need to get to the city---someone, although I have no idea who, is
supposed to meet me there and will tell me what I must do."
Along the
way.....
"Why
has the Messiah spoken to me? What I have done to deserve His
attention. Wow, they were right all along. Oh my Jehovah, WHAT have
I done? What have I become? Come-on, let's move faster. I
don't care if I am blind, He made me this way for a reason. Maybe because
I want, wanted, to kill the people who believed in Him so much. I bet
that is it....I am being punished for my ignorance and disbelief. How could
they have been right, when we, the EXPERTS in everything about Jehovah, were
wrong? How did they find out? Stephen was right. We are
murderers. Oh no. Why would the Lord not strike me down like he did
the sinners in Sodom and Gomorrah? What does He want of me?"
Upon
arrival in Damascus.....
"Do
you know where Judas lives? Yes, the one on Straight Street. Thank
you my son, may Jehovah bless your family. C'mon, let's go. Lead me
there. Good afternoon, Lord. My name is Saul, and I come from
Tarsus. May we come in? Jesus told me to come to the city and wait
for instructions on what to do. Yes, Jesus....the Messiah. He HAS
arrived. Or should I say, he HAD arrived. We killed Him. We
put Him on that cross and watched Him die. Oh, how could we have done
such a thing? We, you, I, all of us; we killed the Messiah. But he
came back like the members of the Way said He would....He is alive in heaven
and he spoke to me as I was on my way here. And our father Moses was
right; no one can see the face of God. He appeared to me as a real bright
light, so bright that in the instant I saw it, I lost my sight. I have so
much I want to tell you, but I am so confused. Why couldn't we see the
signs, like those men and women of the Way did? If I am blind, how am I
going to do whatever I will be told what to do? I wonder who is going to
teach me what mission I have from the Lord? I am so lost right now, I
need a place where I can be alone. A place where I can pray without being
bothered. I don't want any food or water or anyone to interrupt me.
If anyone does come to your home who claims to have a message for God Himself,
then let that man come to me, othewise, I need to be along. Yes, that
would be fine, just lead me there and leave me alone."
And so Saul
prayed......
"Answer
me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be
merciful to me and hear my prayer.
Listen to
my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
I call on
you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer."
And he
prayed.....
|
|
|
Guard my
life, for I am devoted to you. You are my God; save your servant who trusts
in you. |
|
Have
mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long. |
|
Bring joy
to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. |
|
You are
forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you. |
|
Hear my
prayer, O LORD; listen to my cry for mercy. |
|
In the
day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me. |
|
Among the
gods there is none like you, O Lord; no deeds can compare with yours. |
|
All the
nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will
bring glory to your name. |
|
For you
are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God. |
|
Teach me
your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name. |
|
I will
praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name
forever. |
|
For great
is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the
grave." And he
prayed and prayed for three days...... "May
my prayer come before you; turn your ear to my cry. For my soul is full
of......Wha? Huh? Yes, yes, come in. Who sent you?
Did you see Jesus? Do you know him? Who are you?
Ananias. I believe I have heard of you. People say that you are a
well-respected man of Jehovah. Yes, yes, please, |
tell me
what He told you to instruct me.
Ananias
laid his hands on Saul.....
I can see
again. Glory be to Jehovah and his great Son, Jesus! Yes,
yes. I understand. I will do that. But first, please help me
get cleansed of my sins. I need to be baptized. In water. Oh
thank you, Jesus. You ARE my Lord.
Saul's
heart was complete changed, and he began his new mission. Amen.
